For the past 6 years, the No More Silence Foundation (NMSF) located in Memphis Tennessee has been a knowledge-based team of support; with boots on the ground for children and their families affected by sexual violence and incest rape. Aligning families with tangible resources and coordinating sustaining community- based approaches to combat this violent crime and to provide ways to cope. No More Silence Foundation (NMSF) exists to amplify the voices of survivors of sexual violence children and families impacted by incest and community-based trauma. We provide healing through the arts, body safety education, and trauma-informed coping resources that center dignity, creativity, and cultural truth. We were built from the ground up, by a survivor and advocate who believed even pennies and paint could bring hope where silence once lived.
Our Mission

No More Silence, ever again.
> ✨ Founded by a survivor, built for a movement. No More Silence, ever again.
Thank you Shelby County Government Mayor Lee Harris for believing in the work that we do for the families we serve in Memphis and Shelby County. The time you spent with us during some of the most difficult times will not be forgotten.
You were able to see us in action to learn how we use arts as a form of therapy for coping to heal. Art has been proven to be beneficial for survivors of sexual violence. It can be used in many forms, such as dance, photography, writing, sewing, and music. Providing a safe space for survivors and their families with the arts, has been inspirational, allowing room for vulnerability in efforts to seek guidance, speak out, and to report crimes involving sexual violence. Art is a huge contribution to the coping mechanisms we provide to to families we serve who have been affected by traumatic experience steamed from sexual violence.
In Memphis, food insecurity is an increasingly prevalent issue that has been exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic. According to Feeding America's Map the Meal Gap, the food insecurity rate among constituents in Shelby County rose from 15% (140,940 food-insecure people) in 2019 to 21.6% (202,954 people) in 2020.
In Memphis, approximately 1 in 6 people, or 16.8%, are food insecure, with a higher rate of 19.8% for children in Shelby County.
How Are We Helping
During the COVID-19 pandemic, NMSF team was committed to rolling up our sleeves to put in the hard work to assist children and their families in low-income and poverty areas. Our team dedicated more than 3500 hours to partner with other local non-profits and faith-based organizations to help feed over 800 families in need.
Weather we are canvassing the neighborhoods, in the schools, at a churches, libraries, or at a community center; we can always count on the Memphis police department to be there for protection, support, and to engage with the families we serve.
